Born in Frankfurt, Luise Buchberger was appointed Principal Cello at OAE in 2013 and has been living in the UK since.
She began playing period instruments while studying in Salzburg under Clemens Hagen, from 2003 to 2007. Today she is in high demand on both the modern and historical instrument as a chamber musician, soloist and continuo cellist.
With us, Luise is a regular fixture of our Night Shift gigs, when we play classical music without ‘the rules’ down the pub.
